Review: I loved the first film and I love this film.

I was so excited for this to actually get to cinemas. I enjoyed it, my boyfriend enjoyed it, and certainly the whole audience found it funny (I can’t say whether they all enjoyed it because I didn’t ask them, but I’m sure they did).

I was a bit worried at the beginning, because my boyfriend and I had gone to get nachos before hand and we were telling the guy serving us where we were going after and all he told us was that it was long – I was just like ok? Anyway, the only problem that this created was that my butt kept falling asleep (and since we were in the cinema, I couldn’t really move around and get really comfortable).

There are still some very similar elements to the first film – like the filming techniques when it comes to filming the actions scene. It works really well for the film because it becomes a recognisable signature filming technique (I hope that makes sense).

My boyfriend absolutely loved this film and h5as been keen to go see it again. The only scene which he felt uncomfortable at (and too be honest I think we all cringed as an audience), was the scene in which Eggsy had to put his finger inside the girl, and it had a very close up scene of her in her pants basically. (So like maybe don’t take your children because in the cinema it filled up the whole screen). I didn’t mind the scene that much , but just the thought of the action made me cringe.

Anyway it’s basically a whole new storyline – you still have the same characters, but obviously the villain is a different person.

I loved Julianne Moore in this film, her character was just plain crazy and yet I still really liked her. The scene with the meat grinder and then serving the burger was just ewww, but it got a reaction and it definitely was a memorable scene.

My other favourite scene was with Mark Strong when he starts to sing. I won’t give anymore context to this scene because I don’t want to spoil it. But when you watch the film, you’ll know which scene I’m talking about and you’ll love it too.

Colin Firth is of course great, just like in every film he does. And I really loved the bits where he was recovering and he couldn’t quite aim properly.

Then, of course, I loved the introduction of the American group, known as Statesman. Just because it gave the film just a little bit extra. It made it different from the first one (and too be honest I think its better than the first one – even though there are clearly connections between the first and second film).

Also can I just say how hot Edward Holcroft is with his head shaved – like please don’t grow your hair back.

And lastly, anyone who watched the first film knows that there is comedy involved in the films. However, this next film just takes it to the next level, and I think that that might have been the introduction of Elton John (he’s not the main reason that the film is more funny than the last one, but it certainly helped).

I can’t wait to get this film on DVD and watch it again.

This is a film which I highly recommend, it’s not one to miss. I’ve talked mainly about the actors  in the film, but its just some reasons to why I really enjoyed this film. The film is made of an extremely talented cast (and obviously all the crew members helped).

Please, please, please, put this film on your ‘to watch’ list, otherwise you’re missing out.
